Mission: Thanksgiving

On Sunday, November 24, 2024, members and friends of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, 1012 Wisconsin Ave., Kewaunee, participated in a Community Care and Compassion Project called, "Mission: Thanksgiving - Giving Thanks by Giving Back". As a reflection of Christ's Love for us, the project involved the filling and delivering of 200 bags of groceries, the contents consisting of a Thanksgiving meal, to individuals and families who are in need in the Kewaunee County area. The congregation was aided in locating those in need by Kewaunee County Human Services, Lakeshore Community Food Pantry, Kewaunee School District and through member referrals. Funding for this project came from member donations and a matching grant from Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) Christian Aid & Relief. All groceries were purchased locally at the Kewaunee Piggly Wiggly. A volunteer lunch was provided by the Copper Top in Stangelville and served by the Ladies Aid.
